Interface
Control panel
The panel at the bottom of the screen holds everything you use in a fight:
- Troops: how many you have against your maximum, and how fast they grow. Growth slows as you get close to the maximum; cities raise that maximum.
- Gold: the gold you can spend.
- Attack slider: the share of your troops sent with each attack (see Troops and attacks).
- Objectives: how many map objectives you hold and the bonus they give (only shown when the map has objectives).
Build bar
Every building and weapon, with its hotkey and how many you own. A greyed-out item is locked or too expensive; hover it to see its price. See Buildings and Units.
Radial menu
Right-click anywhere on the map (tap on a phone). What it offers depends on the land you clicked.
On your land
- Wrench: build here; pick a building and it is placed where you clicked.
- Red cross: demolish your building closest to the click.
- Info: open the player panel.
On another country
- Sword (centre): attack with your slider's share of troops. The red sword opens the missiles and warships aimed at that spot.
- Boat: land troops by sea, if you have a coastline.
- Handshake, white flag, chat, emoji, target, trade: diplomatic actions described below.
- Send gold / troops to an ally.
Player panel
It shows a country's troops, gold, buildings and your relations with it, with these actions:
- Alliance: ask for an alliance. Allies can't attack each other and can send each other troops and gold.
- Peace (white flag): offer a peace treaty to a player you are at war with.
- Target: mark this player for all your allies, to plan an attack together.
- Trade: stop or restart sending trade ships to this player.
- Quick chat and emoji.
- Report: report a player (inappropriate username, offensive chat, cheating, etc.) to the moderation team.
- Surrender (Nations mode): see Nations mode.
Panels and information
- Events: attacks on you and by you, alliance requests, messages and big moments. Click an attack to jump to it, and answer alliance requests right from the feed. A filterable history (attacks, chat, diplomacy, missiles, trade) is available.
- Leaderboard: the leading players with their share of land, gold and troops. Click a name to jump to that player.
- Player info: hover a country to see its name, gold, troops and how many of each building it owns.
- Options: game clock, speed, pause, settings, full screen and exit. Speed and pause only work in solo games.
- Structure card: click one of your buildings to see its level, what the next level brings and the upgrade button.
Player icons
| Icon | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Crown | Number 1: the top player in the leaderboard |

Chat
The general chat of multiplayer games is moderated: you can mute a player and report a message in one click. Quick chat (key R) and the emoji menu (key F) let you talk without typing. Some serious messages are blocked automatically. Chat can be turned off in the settings.
Highlights
During the game, short commentator-style messages announce the big moments: domination, a giant falling, a turnaround, a streak of conquests, total war between two players. They can be turned off in the settings.
